Administrative InformationAdministrative/biographical history Please follow the link from the creator name (above).Archival history/source of acquisition These papers were donated to the archives by Isaacs' biographer, Dorothy Gardener, in 1969 (Accession 1969-001) with the exception of the correspondence in file P19-D-03, which was left with Donald Winnicott by Susan Isaacs and donated by the Winnicott Trust in 1986 (Accession 1986-003).This collection was partially catalogued during the 1980s or 1990s but recatalogued in 2007. A number of items had been transferred to other collections in the archives but returned to this collection at this time: these include some items in series P19-A and P19-D, which were previously added to the Society collection (refs. G09/BA/F03 and G12/BD/F05) and other papers and correspondence in series P19-D, which were previously placed in the archives' correspondence collection (ref. CIB/F01-F03). However, some items from Miss Gardner's donation could not be located when the recataloguing work took place. Content and structureScope and ContentPapers relating to Isaacs' work on psychoanalysis and child analysis, including her writings and publications (typescripts and offprints, as well as cuttings of articles and advice columns in Nursery World and Home & School) and incomplete sets of lectures on anthropology and child analysis. Also included are a small number of notes/papers commenting on the work of other authors, as well as papers and correspondence related to Isaacs' activities in the British Psychoanalytical Society, including the Controversial Discussions in the 1940s. Reproduction conditions Photocopying is carried out at the discretion of the archivist and according to the archives’ photocopying policy, which is available on request. Copies of material still in copyright can be supplied for research use only. Written permission must be obtained from the archivist to publish or reproduce any material held in the archives.
