Gerhard Schneider, Dr. phil., Dipl.-Psych., Dipl.-Math., studied maths, philosophy, and psychology.

He is a member of the IPA, and a teacher at the Psychoanalytic Institute Heidelberg-Karlsruhe of the DPV.

His main working topics are personal identity, internalization, psychoanalysis of the visual arts and film. He has published several papers, as well as books, on these topics.
