Dr Roger Kennedy is a Training and Supervising Analyst of the British
Psychoanalytical Society. He is a Doctor of Medicine and Fellow of the Royal
College of Psychiatry.
Dr Kennedy trained in Physiology at University College London and then Medicine
at University College Hospital, after which he completed his psychiatric
training at the Royal Free Hospital.
He trained in Child Psychiatry at the Tavistock Centre and at Guy's Hospital.
Dr Kennedy has been Consultant Psychotherapist at the Family Unit, Cassel
Hospital since 1982. He is been an Hon. Senior Lecturer in Psychiatry at
Imperial College London since 1991.
Author of nine books and numerous papers on Psychoanalysis and Child Psychiatry,
Dr Kennedy has also been used as an expert witness in difficult Family Law
cases. He has been Chair of the Scientific Committee of the British
Psychoanalytical Society and on its Ethics committee, as well as sitting on the
Board of Guardians of the International Journal of Psychoanalysis.
